Chapter 1: Gulliver gives an account of his life before shipwrecking on an island. He wakes up on the isle of Lilliput, tied down by ropes attached to his hair and clothes. An important figure come to see him, and he eats a bunch of meat and drinks from a hogshead, he pees a lot, falls asleep, and they take him back to the castle as a prisoner.
Chapter 2: Gulliver is visited by the emperor of Lilliput. The author describes the emperor's person and habit. Gulliver works towards becoming a free man. He poops a lot and the Lilliputians move the feces out in wheelbarrows. The emperor appoints people to teach Gulliver their language, and they take his sword and pistol.
Chapter 3: Gulliver learns about the emperor and the nobility. Children play hide and seek in his hair. he learns about the customs of Lilliput, and eventually is granted his freedom, under certain conditions.
